About Tina
Tina Royal is a newly retired Adult Probation/Parole Officer from the NC Department of Public Safety.
She is an alumna of Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, NC, where she graduated with a degree in Sociology. Tina currently resides in Davidson County, NC where she continues to contribute by volunteering with multiple organizations. She dedicates her time, offers her insight, and provides support and service to the people who need it most.
A force for good in our community.
Ms. Royal started a non-profit organization in 2012 for the children of Lexington and surrounding communities, Anything For Our Youth Group. The organization supports underprivileged youth by providing resources for mental health, advocacy, bullying prevention, recommendations for healthier lifestyles, as well as hosting events and programs so youth don’t have to worry about fees to attend. She also created and started a second nonprofit organization in 2021, The Black Butterfly Network – Lexington. The organization is set up to introduce minority and BIPOC youth to arts in various forms and support local arts throughout Davidson County. She recently launched her new small business, Royalty Events & More. The business rents equipment for special events, parties, and celebrations.
Ms. Royal has volunteered with the Lexington Recreation department as a volunteer coach in various sports for over 20 plus years. Ms. Royal currently serves on several boards of directors throughout Lexington. She currently serves on the board of directors and volunteer with the Davidson County Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Club, Hospice of Davidson County, and the J. Smith Young YMCA of Lexington, NC. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

In 2014, Ms. Royal received the Governor’s Lifetime Medallion Award for Volunteer Service presented to her by the former Governor of North Carolina, Pat McCrory. This honor is given to citizens who are volunteers across the state of NC who have given of their time, service, and love for their communities over their lifetime.
Among other honors Ms. Royal received was an appointment from Roy Cooper, the Governor of North Carolina to the Davidson/Davie County Community College Board of Trustees. Royal received an honor and was named the Community Giving Volunteer recipient from the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Social Action Committee in Thomasville, NC. She was also honored by the Jno G. Lewis, Jr. #326 Consistory & Assembly Lexington, NC (PHA) for her community involvement and leadership. In July 2022 Tina graduated from the Triangle Artworks AccelArts Cohort and was also awarded a scholarship to attend the Artist Thrive 2023 Summit in Winston Salem, NC. Tina also completed and graduated from the NC Rural Center - Rural Economic Development Institute in December 2023.
